A Gathering in L.A. Angela Cheng

There is always excitement to meet new friends and joy to re-establish old friendship.

It's been over 40 years since Albert last saw his High School friends.There were anxiety (will they recognize me?) and excitement for him during this evening but the "old" folks were able to bridge the time gap and got into the swing immediately.  Our dinner coordinator, Jeff, made an excellent choice in picking a good restaurant so we were not "booted" out in an hour on a busy Saturday night. After chatting for an hour, the usually punctual Clifton was nowhere in sight and we were worried he might have problems on the road.  After some detective work, we found him at home and the dinner engagement somehow missed his radar. (Is it a sign of old age? Just kidding.)  Good old Cliff did not want to miss the fun so he raced down Pacific Palisades and just got there in time for dessert, his favorite.

The dinner was delicious but we were disappointed with the chicken dish that was recommended by the captain.  As we put it gently to him, our "old" age could not handle the work of digesting a "not so tender" chicken. Everyone laughed over this comment. Besides Albert, Clifton, Angela, Jeff, Ryan & his wife were there and we had a lovely time.  All of them are on the go. Clifton was going to Toronto and China next week while Ryan heads out to Shanghai. It all sounded like fun. Let's take a look at our beautiful snapshots and see if you can figure out who's who.
