Remembering Mr. K.H. Chan Lee Sai Hon |

| A True Students' Teacher | |||||||||||||||||
I was shocked and sad receiving the news of Mr. Chan's passing. When Mr. Chan first came to Clementi, he was freshly graduated from Hong Kong University. I immediately grew very fond and felt close to this "young" teacher. Whereas some other teachers came across with the appearance of an "I know all" attitude, Mr. Chan displayed a rare sense of empathy and sincerity toward his students. He was very "approachable". My fondest recollection was after our school won the basketball championship of all Hong Kong high schools, Mr. Chan extended an invitation to some of the players to his apartment to celebrate. Not only did we have a great meal, we actually played mahjong with Mr. Chan while Mrs. Chan was busy preparing our dinner. I have never heard of a teacher playing mahjong with his or her students. |

Have you? All barriers between teacher and those students present were broken and cleared after this gathering. From that time on Mr. Chan not only became my most trusted teacher, he became "one of us" and a true "friend" - someone I could comfortably confide, and knew I would get honest advices. |
