From the Eye of a Boy

Chui Ka Ng
After reading the article from Chiu Shan
on Classmates in Clementi,
I felt the urge to respond.

Unlike high schools today where boys and girls dating is a norm, we were victims of Confucius teaching: "man and woman should not come close together". So my impression was formed with my eyes and not with the actual knowledge of the persons. This was probably the reason why Winch pretended not to see Chiu Shan when she walked pass him. Knowing Winch, I believe he would not intentionally hurt the feeling of a young lady.
Chiu Shan gave me the impression that she was a strong-minded person, very manly. After reading her articles recently I was surprised to know how delicate and refine her feeling is.
With the jokes flowing around, I of course dared not to look at Suk Kam, not to mention talking to her. Somehow I formed the impression that she was a rather weak and invert person. After all these years she turned into a "strong lady". I am not referring to her being chairpersons of trade organizations, but to her toughness in weathering the strings of unfortunate events in her business career.
In my eye, Wai Chu was a typical house wife who would play majong the whole day. In reading her articles, I found I was so wrong about her. She is abundant with humors and very shroud in her analysis (about our fund raising project). The only thing that I was right is her picking up majong game.
Since I do not have the opportunity to read articles from other classmates I better not to mention my impression of them, knowing that it would be totally wrong.
